MOTHERWOOD WORKSHOP

For the PULI-006 worshop on autumn 2019 the MOTHERWOOD workshop was elected as the central topic. To continue the fostering of the DO Workshop philosophy of the Future House Lab initiative this workshop was aimed to design and manufacture of a piece of furniture in only one week.
The full workshop was aligned to the GALA project between Universidad Panamericana and Tableros y Maderas de Mayoreo, S.A. to develop furniture for an auction as benefit for Casa Hogar Villa de la Asución, an orphan children house.
During the workshops, Japanese and Mexican students made a field research to get acquainted with the Mexican reality, then they brainstormed to propose ideas, they had a revision on behalf of TMM where the original concept was rejected. A new brainstorm had to be held where new and fresh ideas arose. Finally a new concept was born: a bookshelf with options for positions.
The final product was built in two days and a final presentation and demo of possibilities took place on the afternoon of November 1.
PULI 006 FINAL REPORT AND KABUKI RESTAURANT RAMEN DEMO

Taking into consideration that PULI will end on 2020, the PULI-006 team decided to hold a report event during the final workshop at Universidad Panamericana. For that purpose, the team decided to offer a demo of one of the successful enterprises created by PULI-006 in Aguascalientes, the Kabuki Japanese Restaurant.
For the event the main authorities of the UP campus where invited and Luis Arturo Méndez Alba offered a presentation showing the activities PULI-006 had since 2015.
The ramen dishes where offered by Masaki Horiuchi, co-owner of Kabuki Restaurant.
Besides from the project stakeholders, members of the Japanese society of Aguascalientes were invited as well as CENDIS language school and My Little Sunshine Japanese kindergarden.
VISIT TO MY LITTLE SUNSHINE JAPANESE KINDERGARDEN
October 30, 2019.

Japanese and Mexican members of the PULI-006 workshop visited My Little Sunshien kindergarden owned by Azusa Hirano.
The aim of the visit was to take advantage of Japanese people visit to Aguascalientes to get acquainted with a successful Japanese school rooted in Mexican soil.
SERENADE RESIDENCE PRESENTATION
October 31, 2019.

As a derivation of the PULI-006 project a new concept for intership housing was created in Aguascalientes for the benefit of the Japanese-mexican relation. It is called Serenade Residence.
The aim of this project is to offer quality co-living to Japanese visitors as well as for rent Air B&B style. The development includes four rooms, a living room, kitchen, bathroom and a terrace.
Soichiro Otsu and Kyosuke Murakami from Chiba University and PULI members were the first official guests in the residence.
On October 30, all members of the 2019 PULI-006 workshop made a recognition visit to Serenade Residence
DÍA DE MUERTOS CUSTOM CONTEST
NOVEMBER 1, 2019.

During the visit of Japanese members of PULI-006 an special season was on in México: Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead People), which main festivity is on November 2.
Taking advantage of our Japanese visitors, TMM decided to invite them for their annual Day of the Dead People custom contest.
Dr. Kenta Ono, Soichiro Otsu, Kyosuke Murakami, Daniela Hernández and Luis Arturo Méndez Alba were judges during the event.
VISIT TO MERCEDEZ BENZ TESTING WORKSHOP

As part of the cultural activities of the PULI-006 autumn workshop in Aguascalientes, a visit to the Mercedes Benz Testing Room was programmed.
During the presentation our host Davidl Silva Barragan and his colleagues at Mercedes Benz made differente presetations of the testing activities for Mercedes Benz cars manufactured in Aguascalientes.
The visit includes testing of the features of real cars in examination at the facility.
DAY OF THE DEAD PEOPLE PARADE AND PARTY
NOVEMBER 1, 2019.

During the evening of Friday November 1, members of the PULI-006 team decided to attend the traditional Day of the Dead People parade at downtown Aguascalientes.
After the parade, the young members of both universities went to a traditional customs party.
VISIT TO CEMMETERY
NOVEMBER 2, 2019.

The final activity of the PULI-006 workshop at Universidad Panamericana was a visit to a local cemetery in order to show the Japanese members the Mexican traditions around the death.
During this special day for the Mexican culture, Mexican families gather together in cemeteries to “share” their meal with their deceased ancestors. It is a tradition that comes since prehispanic times.
